4 eggs beaten
2 cups sugar
½ tsp. salt
8 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 cups buttermilk
5 tbsp. shortening
* Put a little vinegar in cold shortening. No greasy doughnuts!

Beat eggs well, add sugar, salt, shortening, and nutmeg. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Mix baking powder in 2 cups flour. Add more flour as you desire!
