Ingredients: 6 lbs of Rib-Eye or New York Strip Steak (boneless or bone in) (This recipe will also work for 1 or 2 steaks) 3 tablespoons of vegetable or similar oil Kosher salt Pepper Granulated garlic

Directions: |
Directions:Start with room temperature steaks. Heat a grill pan or similar on a high to medium-high temperature (you may want to turn the hood fan on since it will get a bit smokey). Liberally slather the steaks, both sides, with vegetable oil. Generously salt, pepper and garlic powder on both sides of the steak. Put the steak in the pan for approximately 4-5 minutes. If possible try to turn the steaks only once so that you get a nice sear on each side. Turn the steaks and cook for another 3-4 minutes depending on the size and thickness. Remove from pan and let sit for at least 5 minutes before serving to seal in the juices. |

Notes: This is the best way I have found to cook a perfect steak with the least amount of time and effort. You can also use the stovetop/oven combination by only cooking for 1 minute on each side (on high) to get the sear and then placing them in a very hot oven (450 degrees) for about 3 minutes on each side. Even Chandler can cook a steak using this method.
