½ tsp. baking soda
¾ cup butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
10 oz. good quality milk chocolate (like Lindt), chopped and divided
1 can Eagle Brand dulcé de leche
1 tsp. sea salt, divided

Preheat oven to 350º F. Line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until just combined. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add flour and baking soda, mix on low until dough forms. Stir in half of the chocolate chunks.
Bring dulcé de leche to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Divide dough in half. Press half into prepared pan. Spread caramel over dough. Sprinkle with ½ tsp. sea salt. Drop remaining dough over caramel and spread until covered.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes until light golden brown. Melt reserved chocolate and spread evenly on bars. Sprinkle with remaining ½ tsp. sea salt. Let cool. Cut into squares.
