Dough:

1 c sugar
1 c scalded milk
1 c warm water
½ c shortening
1 T salt
2 eggs
1 yeast, dry or cake
6 - 7 c flour

Topping:

1½ c cottage cheese
2 T flour
½ c sugar
3 - 4 eggs
½ t vanilla
1 t grated lemon rind (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Grease the pan being used. Using the basic sweet dough recipe, line the bottom and sides of an 8 inch square pan with the dough (rather thin) or use a large oblong pan.

Topping:

Place cottage cheese mixture in dough lined pan and bake in a 375 degree oven 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake until done, about 20 to 30 minutes longer. If desired, use only 2 eggs and add ⅓ c cream. Some cooks add ½ t cinnamon to the mixture or ½ c crushed pineapple or prunes.
