3 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
3/4 tsp baking ammonia (may substitute baking powder, cream of tartar or baking soda)

Directions:
Directions:
Roll ammonia as fine as possible, put through sieve & measure (these may be old instructions because my baking ammonia was ground fine)
Mix flour, baking ammonia, nutmeg.
Cut in butter and Mix well.
Beat eggs and mix with sugar.
Add egg mixture to flour mixture.
Chill dough
Roll tbsp of dough in strips and shape like pretzels
Brush with slightly beaten egg white
Sprinkle with sugar
Bake on greased pan at 375º for 10 minutes.
