1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1-14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
6 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

(For a larger batch that still fits in the crock pot, half again the recipe - double is too large a quantity.)

Heat two cups of the whole milk in the microwave (or stove top) and whisk together with the cocoa powder In a large crock pot. Add all other ingredients and mix. Cover and cook on low for about two hours, then increase temperature to high for another hour. Stir occasionally as the mixture warms up. It's ready when all the chocolate chips have melted and the mixture is warm. Can serve with optional marshmallows, peppermint sticks or whipped topping.

For an adult beverage, try adding some Kahlua or Peppermint Schnapps.
