4 eggs
1 3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup liquid, water,milk or juice
1/4 cup molasses
3/4 cup butter
3 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups candied fruit
1/2cup candied pineapple
1 cup candied cherries
1 pound dark raisins
1 1/2 cups de-pitted figs, cut into large pieces
2 cups pecans

Oven 270º
grease 2 loaf pans, mama used her iron frying pan, line with parchment or wax paper

1st bowl, mix all dry ingrediates, set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Add brown sugar, beat til light and fluffy. Add liquid, malosses and butter. Add dry ingrediates to eggs mix, stir until well mixed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Cool, remove from pan. Wrap tightly. Store for at least 1 month. Brandy or fruitly wine can be poured over it a little at a time over several weeks.
