FAMILY STORY - BREAD WAS BASIC

The Hopp family ate bread with every meal. Their grandson, Merlin Hopp, went to Lamona to help with a couple of wheat harvests. He remembered that Anna Hopp would make big meals for the crew. His grandfather would sit down to eat, spreading thick cream on his bread. He never used butter.
