2½ cups flour
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1¼ tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt
2 rounded tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk (or add 1 Tbsp vinegar to regular milk)
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nuts (optional)


Directions:

Add first 7 ingredients and mix with hands until lumps are out of brown sugar. Take ½ cup mixture and mix with enough oil to become crumbly. Save for topping.

In another bowl, beat eggs, milk & baking soda. Add to dry ingredients. Add oil & vanilla then beat until smooth.

Pour into cookie sheet with sides or rectangle baking pan. Sprinkle crumbly mixture over top. Add nuts, if desired.
Bake 20 minutes at 350º F.
