Grilled New Orleans Style Shrimp

1.5 pound bag large shrimp, deveined (21 - 25 count)
2 T olive oil
3 (or more) garlic cloves, minced
half tsp salt
Toss shrimp with shells on in above ingredients at room temp for 15 min

In a small saucepan heat:
6 T butter
2 t chili powder
2 t black pepper
4 T Worcestershire sauce
Until melted, remove from heat and stir in 1 T lemon juice.

Directions:

Heat the grill to high, then reduce heat to medium high.

Skewer the shrimp and grill, turning over once, 3 to 4 minutes in total.

Make the sauce.

Push shrimp off the skewers into a bowl, pour sauce over and toss to combine.

While Holly lived in the Dominican Republic, she would come home for a month every summer, and we almost always made these scrumptious shrimp. We saved the leftover sauce (if any) to use to dip French bread.
