Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Place flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk to combine; set aside.
Place cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and whisk to combine; set aside.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy - about 4 minutes. Scrape sides of bowl several times during beating. Add eggs and vanilla and beat for another minute or two until combined.
Stir in dry ingredients until just combined. Dump dough out onto a sheet of plastic wrap, form into a large ball, flatten slightly, wrap, and refrigerate at least 20 minutes (may be made to this point, wrapped and refrigerated overnight).
Scoop dough by tablespoonful and roll into a smooth ball. Drop the ball into the bowl of cinnamon sugar and roll around several times to thoroughly coat.
Place balls on prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until lightly browned. Let cool on the baking sheet before removing to a wire rack.

I had never made these, but Cindy put in a request for the holiday baking so this was my choice after checking out several recipes online. A little adjustment and here it is, a new Christmas favorite.
