3 pounds seeded raisins
3 pounds currents
3 pounds (6 3/4 cups) brown sugar
1 pound chopped suet 2 pounds ground beef 1/2 pound mixed peel
8 apples chopped 2 tablespoons mixed spices
1 pint of rum

Brown meat first. Next add remaining ingredients. Cook well but don't boil.
Put into sterilized jars.

This recipe fills quite a few jars the right size for a nine inch pie plate.
