½ Medium Onion
1 Tbsp Oil (Olive Oil)
2 Garlic Cloves
14oz can Crushed Tomatoes (California)
¼ can Tomato Paste
1 Bay Leaf (Optional)
1 tsp Sugar
¼-½ tsp Salt
⅛ tsp Pepper
1 tsp Parsley
½ tsp Oregano (can use more)
½ tsp Basil (can use more)

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion and oil in a medium pot on med-low heat for about 3 minutes. Then add the garlic cloves and saute for 1 minute. Add ingredients together and simmer until warm and ready to serve. Stir occasionally.

Grandma Melba Ruth Breitman-Reiss was the wife of Dr. Robert Reiss (DDS). She was born 12 Nov 1919 in Bronx, NY to a Harry Breitman and Ethel Nadel. She had 2 siblings (Jerome and Gloria). She married Dr. Robert Reiss on 23 Dec 1941, just after he joined the army with the 29th Bomber Squadron. They had their first son in 1947. Eventually they had 4 children; Clifford Andrew Reiss, Douglas Warren Reiss, Richard Herbert Reiss and William Herman Reiss. Dr. Robert Reiss passed away 21 Dec 2003, just a few days shy of their 62nd wedding anniversary. Melba Reiss passed away 20 Sep 2009.
