2 Cups butter
8 oz. Cream cheese
2 Cups sugar
2 Large eggs
1 Teaspoon vanilla
4½ Cups flour


Frosting:
3 Tablespoons butter
1 Tablespoon shortening
½ Teaspoon vanilla extract
3½ Cups confectioner's sugar
4 to 5 Tablespoons 2% milk
Food color optional

Cream butter, sugar ad chream chesse togather untill light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla. Gradually beat flour into creamed mixture. Divide dough in half, wrap in parchment aper and refrigerate until form about 2 hours.

Pre heat oven 350º. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion of dough into ¼ inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters (3"). Place 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets. Bakeuntil set--do not brown, 10-12 minutes. Cool on pan 5 minutes then moe to wire rack, until completely cool.

Frosting: Beat butter, shortening and vanilla until blended. Beat confectioners sugar and enough milk to reach sperrading consistency. Beat until light and fluffy, 3 minutes. Add foood color if desired.

These cookies are quick to make, you get about 5 1/2 dozen cookies. Do not cook these on the botton rack of the oven--in my experience the bottoms burn and the tops dont cook enough.
