1 cup Sugar
3 T flour (not level)
3 T Cocoa (level)
3 large Egg Yolks
1-1/2 T Butter
1-1/2 cup Milk
1 pinch Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, salt and cocoa in sauce pan.
Add milk and butter.
Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens.
Stir small amount of hot mixture into beaten egg yolks.
.Then, pour this back into chocolate mixture in pan.
Add 1 tsp vanilla to mixture after it has started to cool.
Pour filling into baked pie shell.
 

Meringue

2 Egg Whites
4 T Sugar
1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites, which are at room temperature.
Add 2T sugar for each egg, one T at a time.
Then, add 1/4 tsp Cream of tartar.
Beat until meringue forms soft peaks.
Spread on top of filling when filling is cool.
Bake at 350 until meringue browns (about 10 minutes).
