1 c starter
2 c milk
3 c flour
Mix and let stand 2-3 hours in a warm place until bubbly and there is a clean sour milk odor.
2 c sugar
1 c shortening
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp cinnamon
3 tsp soda
4 eggs
6 squares melted chocolate
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, flavorings, salt and soda. Add eggs 1 at a time beating, well after each addition. Combine creamed mixture with sourdough mixture and melted chocolate. Stir 300 strokes or mix at low speed until blended. Pour into 4 layer pans or 2 large pans. Bake 350ºF for 25 minutes or until done. Cool and frost with butterscotch chocolate icing.
