⅓ cup shortening
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup shredded Cheddar or Colby cheese
¼ cup sesame seed, toasted
About ¾ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 450 º.
2. Cut shortening into flour, baking powder, and salt with pastry blender in large bowl until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
3. Stir in cheese and ¼ cup sesame seed.
4. Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.
5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; gently roll in flour to coat. Knead slightly 10 times.
6. Roll or pat until dough is a ½ inch thick.
7. Cut with floured 2½ inch biscuit cutter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle lightly with sesame seed.
8. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
Serve hot.

To toast sesame seed, heat oven to 350 degrees and bake in an ungreased pan 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Or heat sesame seed in an ungreased skillet over medium heat about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
