2 sticks margarine or butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 1/2 oz cream cheese
2 1/2 cup flour
3 egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla

Various canned fillings:
Aprocot
Cherry
Prune
Strawberry
Etcetera

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients well by hand and refrigerate for 1 hour or more.

Once ready to bake, make small balls and flatten. Add filling in center of ball. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

This is my cousin Jasia's recipe. The difference with my mom is she made a dough that was rolled out and cut into squares. She would then put the filling in the middle and bring opposite sides together to make a sort of square pie cookie. A lot more work but still my favorite.

FYI, not mentioned but critical. After cookies are cooled, give them a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
