1 loaf dry bread, cubed and placed in a large bowl

Chicken mixture:

Chicken
1 medium onion, chopped and simmered in butter until transparent.
1 beaten egg
1 t sage
Salt and pepper to taste

Dressing:

1 c chicken broth
3 T flour
4 eggs, well beaten
1 qt milk

Directions:
Directions:
Spread chicken mixture over bread crumbs in bottom of 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Place cut up chicken on top, after it was boiled or baked whole.

Make the dressing to pour over mixture in pan. Add broth, flour, eggs, and milk to 2 qt saucepan. Bring to boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over top of chicken. Lightly cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (This recipe is in Lydia Hopp's handwriting.)
