3 lb medium russet potatoes
1 clove garlic
4 tbsp unsalted butter, room temp
2½ cups (+) heavy cream
Italian seasoning
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º.
Rub garlic all over the inside of a 2½ qt baking dish then butter the dish with 2 tbsp butter.

Thinly slice potatoes. Overlap slices into a lay in the dish, sprinkle with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Repeat with remaining slices, forming layers sprinkled with seasonings.

Pour cream over pushed-down potatoes to just cover potatoes. Dot with remaining 2 tbsp butter, cover with foil and bake 30 min. Remove foil. Bake until top is golden and potatoes are tender (35-45 min more.

Let rest 10 min before serving.
