9 inch unbaked pie shell

2 squares bitter chocolate
1/2 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon plus 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup chopped pecans
5 1/2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 square bitter chocolate
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.

Melt together 2 squares bitter chocolate and 1/2 tablespoon butter together. Cool.

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add chopped pecans, Stir in milk, vanilla and chocolate mixture; mix until smooth. Spread over the bottom of unbaked pie shell.

Combine 1 square bitter chocolate, 1 cup water and 3/4 cup sugar. Place over medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Bring to boil without stirring. Pour over mixture in the pie shell. Bake until done. Serve with whipped cream or thin slice of vanilla ice cream.
