2 cups Water
2 cups Light brown sugar
1/3 stick Butter
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 stick Butter
1 cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Salt
1 cup Chopped Dates
1 cup Chopped nuts
1 1/4 cup Flour, sifted
2 tsp Baking Powder

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water, light brown sugar, and 1/3 stick butter. Boil 10 minutes then pour into a baking pan. Cream white sugar, add ¼ stick butter together, then add milk, vanilla, salt, chopped dates and chopped nuts. Stir together.
Sift flour, measure 1 ¼ cups flour and 2 tsp Baking Powder and sift two times. Add flour mixture to date mixture and stir. Drop into brown sugar mixture in pan. Bake in 350º oven till golden brown.
