Chocolate Fondue on the Stovetop:
In a heavy saucepan, cook and stir the chocolate chips, chocolate squares, and cream over low heat until smooth. Stir in the champagne. Transfer to a fondue pot or slow cooker (on warm setting) and keep warm. Sprinkle with candy sprinkles right before serving. Serve with small bites of cake, fruit, etc... for dipping!

Chocolate Fondue in the Crock Pot:
Place all ingredients in Crock Pot and heat on LOW for 45 minutes - 1 hour (or until chocolate has melted), stirring occasionally. Keep warm in the slow cooker for 1-2 more hours, if desired. Sprinkle with candy sprinkles right before serving. Serve with small bites of cake, fruit, etc... for dipping!

Can I make Chocolate Fondue ahead of time?

You can prepare this white chocolate fondue about 1-2 hours in advance of your party and then just keep it "warm" in a slow cooker until your guests are ready to enjoy.

Keep any leftover fondue in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave in 15-second intervals (stirring each time), until completely melted.

If you're planning a party, A good rule of thumb is about 1/4 cup per person.

This recipe yields about 1 1/3 cups of fondue, or enough for about 5+ people.

How to thicken chocolate fondue: If you want to thicken the chocolate fondue, simply add more chocolate to the pot, or allow the fondue to cool slightly (it will thicken a bit as it sits).

How to thin chocolate fondue: If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more cream, 1 tablespoon at a time.

Personal Notes:
The easy dessert is perfect for date night, a holiday party, a New Year's Eve gathering, or a romantic Valentine's Day date. Make it on the stovetop or in the Crock Pot! Any special occasion deserves a sweet treat with a little bit of bubbly added into the mix.

Sandra made this for the first time in November 2019 to serve at a Fall Fondue party. It was hit and now a favorite dish when needing a quick easy dessert.
