Ingredients: |
Ingredients: 4 cups trimmed & washed radishes very thinly sliced 1 cup thinly sliced sweet onion (both sliced on a mandolin) 1 bunch green onions trimmed, green & white parts thinly sliced 3/4 cup sour cream 1/4 cup white vinegar sea salt & pepper to taste (rather heavy on the salt)

Directions:Mix very well to combine ad radishes & sweet onion and mix to combine gently fold in green onions.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 to 6 hours.
Stir and adjust seasonings before serving.
These amounts are approximate the finished salad should be fully covered by sour cream dressing and slightly on the thin side. |

Notes: Uncle Doc would always prepare this as a side for broiled steak. First sharpening a knife on the sandstone front steps and then slicing by hand probably using 4 or 5 bags of radishes quite labor intensive. On a side note if you don't have a mandolin the Japanese "Big Benny" is a great accessory for the kitchen at around $30 on Amazon it's affordable easy to clean & use and safe if you pay attention.
David brought this to the 2019 Christmas get together and it was AMAZING. I didn't know that I liked radishes.
