1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
3 ounces semisweet chocolate (or bittersweet chocolate, chopped)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
Salt, dash of
1 unbaked (7 ounce) pie pastry (shell)
Whipped cream for topping, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
1. Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler.
2. Mix together sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt in a large bowl.
3. Add melted chocolate mixture to the bowl, and mix until well combined.
4. Pour the mixture into pie shell, and bake until set, 30-35 minutes. Let cool.
5. When time to serve, top with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
