1 tsp. Cinnamon 1 tsp Baking Powder
2 cups plain Flour 1/4 tsp. Allspice
2 cups sugar 1/4 tsp Cloves
3/4 cup Shortening 1 tsp Baking Soda
3 Eggs 1/2 tsp Salt
3 Cups diced Baking Apples 1 tsp. Vanilla

Preheat oven to 325º
Put all in a bowl and work with hands Bake in Iron Skillet or tube pan. Line skillet with wax paper and grease and flour other pan. Bake at 325* for 1 hour or until done.

French Crumb Cake
½ cup margarine 2 eggs
3 tsps. Baking powder 2 tsps. Vanilla
1 cup sugar 2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp salt 1 cup milk
Crumb topping:
1 ½ c flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 cup sugar 1 stick margarine
Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon together, blend in margarine (cold from refrigerator) with hand or with pastry blender, until crumbly. Sprinkle over cake batter. Bake in 350*oven, for ½ hour. Topping will be light brown. When cool sprinkle with powdered sugar.
