1 stick butter
¾ - 1 cup sugar
1 egg slightly beaten
1 - ⅛ cup self-rising flour
¾ cup dates cut into bite size pieces
¾ cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter. While still warm, add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add egg to sugar mixture. Let stand. Mix dry ingredients: flour, dates and walnuts. Add to sugar mixture. Batter will be very stiff. Pour into greased and floured 8” pan. Bake at 350º for 45 -60 minutes or until done.
