1 box white or yellow cake mix, plus ingredients called for on cake box
3-4 medium apples
½ cup sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon

Peel, core and slice apples. Chop apples into thin slices. Place in a medium bowl and toss with sugar and cinnamon. Let sit.

Prepare cake mix as directed on box. Pour into a 9” x 13” pan, sprayed with non-stick spray. Place handfuls of prepared apples on top of cake mix. Some apples will sink, and some will stay on top. As cake bakes, it will rise up over the apples.

Bake as directed on cake mix box, adding about an additional 5-10 minutes to make sure the apples and cake are done. Remove from oven and let cool about 20 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
