¾ cup sugar
2 cups milk
2 tbsp flour
3 eggs; separated
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ½ cup sugar, flour, and salt in top of double-broiler. Stir in milk and cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thick. Remove from double-broiler and cook uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Beat egg yolks and gradually stir into hot mixture. Return to double-broiler and cook for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Line container with vanilla wafers and begin layering bananas, custard, and wafers. End with layer of custard. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Gradually add remaining ¼ cup sugar. Beat until mixture forms stiff peaks and place on top of pudding. Bake at 425 for 5 minutes.
