1 cup flour
Three-quarter cup milk
One and a half teaspoons baking powder
One can pitted sour cherries undrained
1/4 teaspoon salt
One stick butter
One and a half cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Place butter in deep baking dish in oven to melt. Beat 1 cup sugar, milk and flour mixture until smooth. Pour over melted butter but do not stir. Pour fruit and juice over batter and sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 3:50° for 30 minutes
