Three-quarter cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch +2 teaspoons more
1/8 teaspoon salt
Three separated eggs
3 cups milk
One and a half tablespoons butter
One and a half teaspoons vanilla
Three-quarter cup coconut
One baked and cooled 9 inch pie crust
Three-quarter cup whipping cream
1/3 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

Combine sugar cornstarch and salt and a heavy sauce pan stir well. Combine egg yolks in milk. Gradually stir in to sugar mix. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil one minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat stir in butter and vanilla and a half a cup of coconut .Pour into pie shell and covered with wax paper. Let cool 30 minutes. Chill until firm. Beat cream until frothy. Add powdered sugar beating until peaks form. Spread over filling. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup toasted coconut. (Toast with butter until Brown .)
