1 cup Flour
1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
¼ cup Sugar
3½ teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Milk
⅓ cup Vegetable Oil
3 tablespoons Sour Cream (or Cream Cheese)
3 tablespoons Apple Sauce
1 Egg

Directions:

Stir together all ingredients in a large bowl.
Pour into a large cast iron skillet and bake at 400º for 20-25 minutes.

This recipe reminds Dad of the skillet of Aunt Lela's cornbread that was always on Aunt Alice's counter at the Tennessee family farm. It sounds like he frequently helped himself to a serving throughout his summer days there haha
