2 cups Flour
2 tablespoons Sugar
3 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
6 tablespoons Butter
⅔-¾ cups Milk
1 quart Fresh Strawberries, sliced and sprinkled with sugar (* can substitute frozen strawberries in sugar)
Fresh Whipped Cream

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients together in a bowl and stir with a whisk to combine.
Cut in shortening, then add milk to make a soft dough. Knead gently, adding more milk if the dough is very dry.
Pat ½ of the dough into a 9 inch round cake pan. Dot with butter.
Pat second ½ half of dough to make a 9 inch disk and lay it on top of the first.
Bake for 12-15 minutes at 450º.
Split layers apart.
Layer shortcake with sliced strawberries (in between layers and on top).
Serve with Fresh Whipped Cream
