This recipe is a double batch

1 cup crisco
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 Tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
1 Tsp Cream of Tarter
1 Tsp salt
2 Tsp baking soda
Directions:

This is a double batch
Preheat oven to 350º
Bake 8 to 10 minutes

Cream crisco, butter, brown sugar and white sugar with mixer until well blended
Add eggs and vanilla and cream together with mixer
Mix in by hand cream of tarter, salt, baking soda and flour
Chill for 2-3 hours before baking
After chilled, roll out on flat surface to cut out cookies in desired shapes. Use flour on the surface and on the rolling pin to avoid dough from sticking. Cut out and then bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

I always have 2 cookie sheets going to keep the cookies baking. I use parchment paper on the cookie sheets to avoid cookies from getting too brown on the bottoms.

Do not overbake. Take the cookies out of the oven before they are too brown.
Frost cookies after they are cooled.

Cookies can also be rolled in 1 inch balls and rolled in sugar and baked as sugar cookies with your favorite sprinkles and sugar colors.
