1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup warm water
1 packet dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 2/3 cup white flour
1 1/3 cup whole wheat
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Scald milk; add shortening and honey. Allow shortening to melt. Let mixture stand in cold water until lukewarm. Put in large bowl; set aside.
2. Mix together water, yeast and sugar. Add to lukewarm milk mixture. Add white flour and salt. Add whole wheat flour and knead. Let rise until double in size, about 1 hour.
3. Divide and put into greased loaf pans. Let rise until double in size again.
4. Bake at 350°F until crust is brown or tapping gives hollow sound (about 30 min?).
