Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup Karo Syrup
1 square butter or margarine
Whipping Cream (see below)
1 tsp vanilla
2 squares chocolate
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 4 ingredients over low heat until partially melted. Add cream or 1 can milk (1/3 at a time) (or you can use whipping cream and canned milk). Cook on medium heat no higher.

Bring to 228º to 230º after each addition

Stir constantly with a wooden spoon, make sure all sugar is from sides of the pan.

Long cooking (adding milk 4-5 times) will make darker caramels. Take off the stove to add milk if heat is too high.

Add vanilla, chocolate squares and nuts (if desired) Place in an 8x8" buttered dish. Let cool and cut into squares
