1 c. sugar
½ c. shortening or margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ½ c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
⅓ c. milk
1 ½ c. fresh or frozen blueberries

Directions:
Directions:
Beat 2 egg whites until fluffy and stiff. Add ¼ c. sugar to keep them stiff.
Cream shortening, vanilla and remaining sugar.
Add 2 egg yolks and beat until creamy.
Mix together flour and baking powder and then mix in alternately with milk.
Fold in egg whites. Add 1 Tbsp flour to blueberries and fold in.
Sprinkle top of cake with sugar before baking.

Bake in an 8x8 greased pan at 350º for 50 minutes.
