2 cups shortening
4 cups sugar
8 eggs (beaten)
4 T Vanilla
1 tsp salt
4 cups sifted flour
2 cups cold water
6 squares chocolate
Nuts if desired

Chocolate squares:
3 T Chocolate (hersheys bitter powder)
1 T vegetable oil
Makes 1 square
