2 c. flour
c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
tsp. salt
c. butter
c. sour cream
1 egg
tsp. almond extract
⅔ c. dried cherries
c. sliced almonds
1 T. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375. Combine almonds and 1 T. sugar for topping in small bowl; mix well and set aside. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl; cut in butter to coarse crumbs. Combine sour cream, egg and extract in small bowl till smooth. Stir in flour mixture just until moistened. Stir in cherries. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times until smooth, adding small amount of flour in necessary. Divide dough in half. Put each into a 7 circle. Put 2 apart on baking on baking sheet. Sprinkle topping over dough. Score into 8 wedges. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool 15 minutes. Separate.
