Bonnie Sue (Burbridge) Keeling


1 pkg dry Yeast
1 cup Milk (scalded and cooled)
4 Tbsp Sugar
4 cups sifted Flour
2 Tbsp melted Shortening
1 Egg
2 tsp Salt

Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm milk.
Add shortening and 1 cups flour. Beat thoroughly
Let rise hour
Add beaten egg, salt and the remaining flour
Make into a stiff (but not to stiff) dough
Knead lightly
Place in well greased bowl.
Cover and set side to rise 1 hours or until dough has doubled in size.
Form into small rolls and put into well-greased pans
Let rise until doubles in size 20-30 minutes
Bake in hot oven 10-15 minutes
Brush with melted butter when done.
