"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
1 head of green cabbage
1-2 carrots, shredded
1 green pepper finely chopped
1 celery rib finely chopped
3 Tbs chopped parsley
2 Tbs finely grated onion
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise (I use light....don't think it makes any difference)
2 Tbs Wine Vinegar
1 Tbs sugar

Salt and Pepper, Worcestershire Sauce, celery salt and of course paprika

Directions:
Prepare all of the vegetables and refrigerate

Prepare the dressing and refrigerate

Toss together just before serving.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This was definitely a Thanksgiving staple. Mom used to prepare all the vegetables and put ice cubes on top and keep in refrigerator until just before serving. Dressing was made ahead too and then tossed at the last minute. I like this a lot better than the sweeter stuff you get at the deli or at the grocery store.
