6 medium Russett potatoes (I figure ½ potato per person, so adjust accordingly)
2 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup butter (1/2 stick)
3 tbsp sour cream
½ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Peel, cube, and boil potatoes 15-20 min in lightly salted water. Drain and transfer softened potatoes to large bowl. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, butter, and sour cream. Roughly smash with potato-masher or fork. Add milk and combine/mash with electric hand-mixer to until light and fluffy (approx. 3 min).

My version of mashed potatoes is a slightly modified, slightly 'fancier' version of Nana's original mashed potatoes, the only difference being that I added the sour cream and garlic powder.
