Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c boiling water
1/4 c Crisco(shortening)
1 egg
5 1/2 c all purpose flour
1/2 c lukewarm water
1 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar
1 pkg yeast

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over Crisco, sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved and cooled. Add yeast which had been dissolved in the lukewarm water. Add egg and mix well. Stir in flour to make a soft dough. Rub surface with Crisco, cover tightly and store in refrigerator until ready to use. Will keep a week. It is much tastier if left in refrigerator at least overnight before using.
When ready to use punch down dough and roll out on a floured board until about 1 inch thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Butter tops and fold over. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size. Let rise in a warm draft free place. Bake at 425º for about 20 minutes. Mom took out around 12 to 15 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
These rolls are a Thanksgiving favorite. One year Darren, Timothy and Matthew had a roll eating contest. I think that the winner ate over twenty. Aunt Carolyn makes them for Thanksgiving now.
