2 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp cumin
2 tsp dried thyme
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder

4 lb. chicken
Vegetable oil
Rub
1 (12 oz.) beer

Directions:

Mix all rub ingredients together - mixture can be stored for up to 6 months

Preheat grill to medium-high heat
Rub chicken down with vegetable oil & then season the chicken with rub mixture
Pour out 1/4 of beer & sit chicken on top of beer can
Place in center of hot grill and cover
Cook for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until thermometer registers 165º
Once cooked, cover loosely with foil & let rest for 10 minutes before carving
