Cranberry Bread Recipe

4 c flour
2 c sugar
3 t baking powder
1 t soda
1⅔ t salt

2 oranges, juiced and grated rinds
1 c water
4 T melted shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 c chopped nuts
4 c sliced cranberries

Sift together: flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt
Combine the orange juice, rind, and water.
Beat the eggs. Stir into the orange juice mixture.
Add dry ingredients. Do not beat, but stir gently until all is dampened. Fold in cranberries and nuts.
Spoon into greased loaf pans.
Bake 60 minutes in a 350 oven.
Store 24 hours before slicing. Makes 3 loaves.
