Ingredients:  
1 round steak or other cut or left over roast with bone
1 tablespoon olive oil
2/3 to 1 cup barley
1 package onion soup mix
2 bay leaf
1 onion chopped
1 garlic clove minced
2 carrots diced
2 stalk celery diced
4 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 ⁄8 teaspoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons fresh parsley or 2 teaspoons dried
salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In a Dutch oven put in oil and brown meat.
Pour in barley, bay leaves, soup mix and cover with 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until barley is just about cooked.
Add onions, celery, garlic, carrots and continue to simmer till vegies are cooked.
Add Worcestershire, thyme, parsley and salt and pepper to taste.
