1 pkg raisins
2 cup sugar
3 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp cloves
4 or more cups of flour
Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in water 10 minutes, add shortening and cool. Add other ingredients and bake at 350º for 30 minutes, then lower to 250º and continue baking for 2 hours.

(This is my 80-year-old grandma's recipe)
