7 lbs. medium-sized cucumbers

Syrup:
3 c. water
2 c. vinegar
9 c. sugar
2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. pickle spices

Directions:
Directions:
Wash cucumbers and place in large crock or dish. Boil enough water to completely cover cucumbers. Let stand 24 hours and drain. Repeat each day for 4 days using fresh boiled water each time. Day 5 - drain and thinly slice cucumbers to ¼ inch rings. Combine vinegar, sugar, salt and spices in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour syrup over sliced cucumbers and let stand for 24 hours. Day 6 - drain syrup from cucumbers; bring syrup to a boil. Pour syrup over sliced cucumbers and let stand for 24 hours. Day 7 - drain syrup from cucumbers; bring syrup to a boil. Add sliced cucumbers to boiled syrup and bring to a boil again. Pack in hot jars. Set jars aside to seal.
