1 c. shortening
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 c. flaked coconut
2 c. oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar well until light and fluffy. Add eggs and mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and soda; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add coconut, oats and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Yield: 4 dozen.
