1/4 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 c. flour, sifted
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. fresh berries
1/4 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1/4 pound oleo (1 stick) in oblong baking dish. Combine sugar and milk. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add gradually to sugar and milk mixture. Pour batter into baking dish. Put 3 c. washed, stemmed and drained fruit over batter. Sprinkle 1/4 c. sugar over fruit. Bake 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Serve hot or cold with whipped topping. (If you use self-rising flour, omit salt and baking powder.)
